Choose which feedback becomes Jira work, connect posts to issues that already exist, or bring an existing issue into Userorbit as a draft.

Before you start, connect Jira and set a default project and issue type. A matching board rule can override those defaults.

Create an issue from feedback

  1. Open the feedback post in Userorbit.
  2. Click Jira to open Jira issues.
  3. Check the destination project and issue type described in the dialog.
  4. Click Create Jira issue.
  5. Click the linked issue key to open the result in Jira.

The new issue uses the feedback’s title and description. If automatic creation is already being processed for the post, allow it to finish before creating another issue.

  1. Open the feedback and click Jira.
  2. Under Link an existing issue, enter the exact issue key, such as KAN-7.
  3. Click Link issue.

Search by title

  1. Enter words from the issue title in Link an existing issue.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Check the result’s key and title, then click Link beside the correct issue.

Each feedback post can link to one issue in the Jira connection. Several feedback posts can link to the same Jira issue. Search and linking respect your connection’s available-project restrictions and the Jira account’s permissions.

Update the issue’s title and description

After editing feedback in Userorbit, open its Jira dialog and click Update from feedback. This sends the current feedback title and description to the linked issue.

This is a manual content update. Automatic synchronization covers configured statuses; assignees, priorities, comments, and arbitrary custom fields are not mirrored.

Open the feedback’s Jira dialog and click Unlink beside the issue. This removes the local association while leaving the issue in Jira. You can then link a different issue or create one manually. Unlinking does not automatically recreate the original link.

Import an issue as draft feedback

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Jira → Manage connections.
  2. Expand Import a Jira issue as draft feedback.
  3. Select Import into board.
  4. Enter an Issue key or title and click Search.
  5. Select the correct issue and click Import as draft.
  6. Click Open draft feedback.

The imported feedback is unpublished and linked to the original issue. Review its title, description, and destination board before publishing, especially when the issue contains internal details.

Importing does not publish the feedback or send customer notifications. Publishing later preserves the existing Jira link. Importing an issue that is already linked returns the existing feedback instead of creating another post.
