Connect Jira Cloud, choose default projects, manage access, and understand the optional Jira panel.
Connect Jira Cloud to turn feedback into issues and keep your team’s work linked to customer requests.
Before you begin
You need administrator access to your Userorbit workspace and a Jira Cloud account with access to the projects you want to use. The connected Jira account must be able to create issues and make the workflow transitions you configure.
Userorbit supports one Jira connection per workspace. Jira Server and Jira Data Center are not supported.
Connect your account
- Open Settings → Integrations in Userorbit.
- Find Jira and click Manage connections.
- In Manage Jira, click Connect.
The Manage Jira panel with the Connect button
- Sign in to Atlassian if prompted.
- Select your Jira site, review the requested access, and approve the connection.
- Return to Userorbit and check the site under Jira Cloud site. If multiple sites are available, select the one you want to use.

This example uses a dedicated test installation. Your site name and Atlassian notices may differ.
Set default and available projects
- Choose a Default project.
- Choose an Issue type, such as Task or Bug.
- Optionally select projects under Available projects.
- Click Save settings.
The KAN default project, Task issue type, and available-project settings
The default project and type are used for manual creation when no board rule matches. Board rules can choose different destinations.
Available projects restricts the projects your team can use to create, search, or link issues. Leave every project unchecked to allow all projects accessible to the connected account. When you restrict projects, the default project and every board rule must use an allowed project.
Connecting your account does not enable automatic creation. Add and save a board rule to send new feedback to Jira automatically.
Reconnect your account
If Userorbit asks you to reconnect, open Manage Jira and click Reconnect. Complete Atlassian authorization again, then check that the expected site is selected.
Reconnecting renews account access without removing your existing rules or links. The selected site is preserved when it remains authorized. You do not need to disconnect first.
Disconnect Jira
In Manage Jira, click Disconnect and review the confirmation.
The Jira disconnect confirmation in Userorbit
Disconnecting removes the local connection and its issue associations. Existing Jira issues remain in Jira. If you connect again later, configure the connection and restore the links you need.
You cannot switch to a different Jira site while issues remain linked. Remove those links before switching sites.
Feedback inside Jira
Viewing Userorbit feedback inside Jira requires the separate Userorbit Jira app to be installed and configured for your organization. Connecting your account here does not install that app.
Ask your administrator whether the app is available before using Generate pairing code. If Userorbit reports that the Jira app is not configured, the separate setup must be completed before the panel can be used. Issue creation, linking, imports, and status rules work without the panel.
