This guide shows you how to integrate Userorbit with Slack to receive real-time notifications for important events, enhancing team collaboration and responsiveness.
Before You Begin
- An active Userorbit account.
- Administrative access to a Slack workspace where you want to receive notifications.
- Identify the Userorbit events you want to monitor (e.g., new feedback, new comments, status changes).
Steps
- Connect Your Slack Workspace — Navigate to the Integrations section in your Userorbit Admin Panel. Find the Slack integration option and click "Connect" or "Add to Slack." You will be redirected to Slack to authorize the connection. Select the workspace you wish to connect and grant the necessary permissions.
- Configure Notification Triggers — Once connected, return to the Userorbit Slack integration settings. You will see options to select which Userorbit events should trigger Slack notifications. Common events include: "New Feedback Received," "New Comment on Feedback," "Feedback Status Changed," "New Survey Response," etc. Select the events relevant to your workflow.
- Select Slack Channel for Notifications — For each event trigger you have enabled, specify the Slack channel where the notifications should be posted. You can choose different channels for different event types (e.g., #feedback for new feedback, #product-updates for status changes).
- Customize Notification Format — Some integrations offer options to customize the content or appearance of the Slack messages. Look for settings like "Message Format," "Include Details," or "Custom Fields." Adjust these to ensure the notifications provide the most relevant information to your team.
- Manage the Integration — In the Userorbit integration settings, you can typically "Pause," "Edit," or "Disconnect" the Slack integration. Regularly review your notification settings to ensure they align with your team's needs and avoid notification fatigue.
Verify It Worked
Trigger one of the configured events in Userorbit (e.g., submit a test feedback item, change a feedback status). Check the specified Slack channel to confirm that a notification was received with the expected format and content.
