Configure how and when you receive notifications

Userorbit sends notifications to keep you informed about new feedback, team activity, and customer interactions. You can fine-tune these notifications so you receive what matters without being overwhelmed.

Accessing notification settings

Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner of the dashboard and select Notification Preferences. You can also reach this page through Settings → Notifications.

Email notifications

Email notifications are sent to the email address on your profile. You can toggle each notification type independently:

  • New feedback received — get notified when a customer submits new feedback. Useful for teams that want to triage feedback quickly.
  • Feedback status changes — receive an email when feedback items you are assigned to or watching change status.
  • New comments — get notified when someone comments on a feedback item or announcement you are involved with.
  • Team mentions — receive an email when a team member mentions you using @name in a comment.
  • Weekly digest — a summary of workspace activity sent once per week. Good for staying informed without frequent individual emails.

In-app notifications

In-app notifications appear as a badge on the bell icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard. Configure which events trigger in-app alerts:

  • All activity — see every event in your notification feed.
  • Mentions and assignments only — limit notifications to items directly involving you.
  • Custom — pick exactly which event types appear in your in-app feed.

Notification frequency

For email notifications, you can control how often emails are sent:

  • Instant — receive an email for each event as it happens. Best for small teams or high-priority workflows.
  • Batched (hourly) — events are grouped into a single email sent once per hour. Reduces inbox clutter while keeping you reasonably up to date.
  • Daily summary — all events are compiled into one email sent at your preferred time each day.

Sound settings

In-app notifications can optionally play a sound when they arrive. Toggle Notification Sound on or off in the notification preferences panel. This setting only affects the browser tab where Userorbit is open.

Per-item notification controls

Beyond global settings, you can control notifications on individual items:

  • Watch — click the watch icon on any feedback item or announcement to receive all updates about it, regardless of your global settings.
  • Mute — mute a specific item to stop receiving notifications about it, even if your global settings would normally include it.

Tips for managing notification volume

  • Start with the Batched email frequency and adjust if you need faster alerts for specific events.
  • Use Mentions and assignments only for in-app notifications if your workspace has high activity volume.
  • Watch items you care about individually rather than enabling broad notification categories.
  • Review your notification preferences periodically as your role and responsibilities change.
