Add and manage your team

Userorbit is built for collaborative product management. Inviting your team ensures everyone can contribute to feedback triage, announcements, and roadmap planning. This guide covers the full lifecycle of team member management.

Inviting new team members

  1. Navigate to Settings → Team in the dashboard.
  2. Click the Invite Members button in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas. You can invite multiple people at once.
  4. Select a role for the invited members: Admin, Member, or Viewer. You can change roles later.
  5. Click Send Invitations.

Each invited person receives an email with a link to join your workspace. The invitation link expires after 7 days. If it expires, you can resend it from the pending invitations list.

Managing pending invitations

On the Settings → Team page, a Pending tab shows all outstanding invitations. From here you can:

  • Resend — send the invitation email again if the recipient did not receive it or the link expired.
  • Revoke — cancel a pending invitation. The invitation link becomes invalid immediately.
  • Change role — update the role assigned to a pending invitation before the person accepts.

Managing active team members

The Active tab lists all current team members. For each member you can:

  • Change role — click the role badge next to a member name to change their permissions. See the roles and permissions article for details on what each role can do.
  • Remove — click the three-dot menu next to a member and select Remove from Team. The person loses access to the workspace immediately. Their past activity (comments, changes) is preserved but attributed to a deactivated user.

Understanding seat limits

Your Userorbit plan includes a certain number of team seats. You can check your current usage on the Settings → Billing page, which shows how many seats are used out of your total allocation.

  • If you reach your seat limit, you cannot send new invitations until you remove a member or upgrade your plan.
  • Pending invitations count toward your seat limit, so revoking unused invitations frees up seats.
  • Viewer seats may be counted differently depending on your plan — check your plan details for specifics.

Transferring ownership

Each workspace has one Owner — the person who created the workspace or had ownership transferred to them. To transfer ownership:

  1. The current owner navigates to Settings → Team.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the new owner name.
  3. Select Transfer Ownership.
  4. Confirm the transfer. The previous owner retains Admin role access.

Tips

  • Invite team members with the least privilege needed. Start with Viewer or Member roles and promote to Admin only when necessary.
  • Periodically review your team list and remove members who no longer need access.
  • Use the pending invitations list to clean up expired or unnecessary invites and free up seats.
