Your first survey

Create a survey, test its questions and targeting, then publish it to the intended audience. For an in-app survey, install Userorbit on the application where customers will see it.

Create the survey

1. Open Surveys and select New Survey.
2. Enter a title and choose a template, or select Blank to start from scratch.
3. Select Create Survey to open the editor.
4. In Questions, select Add Question. Choose a question type and enter the question and any answer choices. Mark the question Required if customers must answer it.
5. Review the thank-you message at the end of the survey.

Use a question title that asks one thing. For rating questions, check the scale and its labels before testing.

Choose how the survey appears

Open Design to set the card, question, and button styles. Check that text and controls remain readable in your application's theme.

Open Targeting and configure:

• How often should this survey launch? Choose Show once or Show every time.
• When should this survey launch? Choose manual launch or automatic launch when a user triggers an event. For automatic launch, configure the event triggers.
• Audience. Choose all users or specific users. Start with a test audience while checking the survey.
• The display delay, if you want to wait before showing the survey.

Test and publish

1. Select Save as draft after making changes.
2. Select Preview and complete every question. Check required answers, choice labels, buttons, links, and the thank-you message.
3. Test the configured launch conditions with a known test user in your application.
4. When the content and targeting are ready, select Publish and confirm.

Saving a draft does not publish a new survey. The Publish action requires your changes to be saved first. After publication, verify delivery using a user who matches the audience and trigger rules.

Open the survey's Results tab to review responses and delivery activity. Check views, starts, completions, and question performance before expanding the audience.
