This guide shows you how to effectively prioritize user feedback using the voting features within the Userorbit Admin Panel.

Before You Begin

  • Access to the Userorbit Admin Panel.
  • User feedback collection enabled and active.

Steps

  1. Understand User Voting Mechanics — Users can cast a single vote on each feedback item by clicking the vote button. This ensures each user's preference is represented once per suggestion.
  2. View Feedback Sorted by Votes — Navigate to your feedback section. You can sort feedback by "Top" to see items with the highest total votes, "Trending" to identify items gaining recent momentum (velocity of votes), or "Newest" for the most recently submitted feedback. Understanding the difference between "Top" (total votes) and "Trending" (recent voting activity) is crucial for identifying both long-standing demand and emerging needs.
  3. Utilize Vote Counts for Prioritization — Higher vote counts directly indicate stronger user demand or interest for a particular feature or improvement. Use these counts as a primary signal to inform which feedback items should receive higher priority in your development roadmap.
  4. Identify Voters for Deeper Insights — As an administrator, you can view the specific users who have voted on any given feedback item. This allows you to understand the demographic or user segment backing a particular suggestion, offering valuable context beyond just the vote count.
  5. Combine Vote Data with Other Signals — While vote counts are powerful, enhance your prioritization by integrating this data with other critical business signals. Consider the customer's plan (e.g., enterprise vs. free users), potential revenue impact, strategic alignment, and development effort to make well-rounded prioritization decisions.

Verify It Worked

Confirm that you can navigate to your feedback section, sort items by "Top" and "Trending," and successfully identify the users who have voted on a specific feedback item.
