This guide shows you how to make your product roadmap publicly accessible and customize its appearance and content using the Userorbit Admin Panel.
Before You Begin
- You must have an existing roadmap created within the Userorbit Admin Panel.
- Ensure you have administrative access to modify roadmap settings.
Steps
- Enable Public Access — Navigate to your roadmap settings and toggle the "Public Access" option to ON. This will generate a default public URL for your roadmap.
- Customize Appearance (Branding and Colors) — In the public roadmap settings, locate the "Appearance" or "Branding" section. Upload your logo, choose your brand colors, and select fonts to match your company's visual identity.
- Select Roadmaps and Stages for Public View — Go to the "Visibility" or "Content" settings for your public roadmap. Here, you can choose which specific roadmaps and individual stages (e.g., "Planned," "In Progress," "Completed") will be visible to the public.
- Allow Public Voting on Topics — Find the "Engagement" or "Voting" section in your public roadmap settings. Enable the option to "Allow public voting" to let users submit and upvote roadmap topics.
- Set Up a Custom Domain (Optional) — If you wish to host your public roadmap on your own domain (e.g., roadmap.yourcompany.com), navigate to the "Domain" settings. Follow the instructions to configure your custom domain and update DNS records.
- Embed Your Public Roadmap in Your Website — To integrate your public roadmap directly into your website, look for an "Embed" or "Share" option. Copy the provided HTML embed code and paste it into your website's source where you want the roadmap to appear.
- Control Visible Information (Hide Stages, Private Topics) — Within the visibility settings, you can further refine what is shown. You can hide specific stages from public view or mark individual roadmap topics as "Private" to ensure they are not displayed on the public roadmap.
Verify It Worked
Open the public URL of your roadmap in an incognito browser window or share it with a colleague to confirm that the correct roadmaps, stages, and topics are visible, voting is enabled if configured, and the branding matches your customization.
