Save a named snapshot before making a significant change to an analytics board. A version captures the board's layout and report definitions, not cached report results.

Save a version

  1. Go to Analytics and open the board.
  2. Open the More menu in the board header.
  3. Select Version history.
  4. Enter a name that will help you recognize the snapshot later.
  5. Select Save.

The saved version appears with the date and time it was created.
Permissions A project editor, admin, or owner can save and restore board versions. All project members can view the version list.

Restore a version

  1. Open Version history.
  2. Find the version you want to use.
  3. Select Restore.

Restoring is non-destructive. Userorbit creates a new board from the snapshot, gives its title a — restored suffix, and opens it. The current board remains unchanged.
Because versions store definitions rather than cached results, the restored board does not preserve an old copy of calculated chart results.

Delete a saved version

  1. Open Version history.
  2. Select the delete icon beside the version.

The version's creator and project admins or owners can delete it. Deleting a saved version does not delete the current board or a board that was previously restored from it.
