The Help Center Organize page lets you reorder articles, move them between collections, and build a nested collection hierarchy while previewing the result on desktop or mobile.

Before you start

  • Open the default-language version of your help center. Organization is disabled in translated views.
  • Go to Help Center > Help Center; the page title is Organize.

Organize collections

  1. Drag a collection row by the row itself.
  2. Drop near the top of another row to place it before, near the bottom to place it after, or in the center to nest it inside.
  3. Hover over the center of a collapsed collection to expand it before dropping.
  4. Use New > Add collection for a top-level collection, or a collection's menu to add a subcollection.

Organize articles

  1. Drag an article between article rows to reorder it.
  2. Drop an article on a collection to move it there; it is appended to that collection.
  3. Use the desktop and mobile previews on the right to check the public structure.

Language behavior

Make structural changes in the default-language view. Userorbit synchronizes collection hierarchy and sort order to translated collections and articles where translations exist.

Limits and troubleshooting

  • You cannot nest a collection inside itself or one of its descendants.
  • The All articles table is not a drag source for the tree.
  • Remove all articles and subcollections before deleting a collection.
  • If a move fails, the tree rolls back to its previous structure.
