Merge feedback when two posts describe the same request. Choose the post that should remain as the destination.
Before merging
Read both posts and their comments. Confirm they describe the same problem and that the destination has a clear title and useful context.
Both posts must belong to the same workspace and must not already be archived. The merge action is restricted; if it is unavailable, ask an administrator to review the posts.
What merging does
The merge moves the source post's votes, comments, subscribers and tags to the destination, while removing duplicates where needed. Votes from the same person are deduplicated, so the resulting vote count may be lower than the sum of both posts.
The source post is archived and linked to the destination as a merged post. Existing subscriber opt-outs are preserved.
Verify the result
Open the destination and review its content, discussion and votes. Confirm that the source is archived. Do not assume the merge sends a notification to every voter.
