From any screen in Userorbit, click Contacts in the left sidebar. This opens the contacts list, which displays every person Userorbit has recorded — anonymous visitors, identified users, and subscribers alike. The list loads the most recently seen contacts first by default.

Search for a specific contact

At the top of the Contacts page you will find the search bar. Type a name, email address, or user ID to locate a specific person. Search results update as you type, matching against the contact's name, email, and external ID fields. If the person you are looking for does not appear, double-check that they have been identified or imported into Userorbit.

Filter contacts by properties

To narrow the list beyond a simple text search, use the Filter button next to the search bar. Filters let you build rules based on any contact property:

  1. Click Filter to open the filter panel.
  2. Select a property from the dropdown, for example Plan, Country, or a custom property you have defined.
  3. Choose an operator such as is, is not, contains, or greater than.
  4. Enter or select the value you want to match.
  5. Click Apply. The contacts list updates immediately.

You can stack multiple filters to create precise queries. For example, filter for contacts where Plan is Pro and Country is United States to see only US-based Pro customers.

Sort the contacts list

Click any column header to sort the list by that field. Common sort options include:

  • Last seen — Puts the most recently active contacts at the top. Useful for finding people who are currently online or were active today.
  • Created date — Orders contacts by when they first appeared in Userorbit. Helpful for reviewing recent sign-ups.
  • Name or email — Alphabetical sorting for quickly scanning a roster.

Click the same column header again to reverse the sort order.

View a contact's detail page

Click any row in the contacts list to open that contact's detail page. The detail page shows:

  • Profile — Name, email, avatar, and all standard and custom properties.
  • Activity timeline — A chronological feed of events, page views, and sessions attributed to this contact.
  • Segments — Every segment this contact currently belongs to.
  • Messages — A history of messages this contact has seen or interacted with.

From the detail page you can manually edit properties, add tags, or remove the contact from Userorbit entirely.

Tips for efficient contact management

  • Save frequently used filter combinations as segments so you can return to them with one click.
  • Use the Export option to download a filtered list as a CSV file for offline analysis or sharing with your team.
  • If your contacts list feels cluttered with anonymous visitors, filter by Email is set to focus on identified users only.
