What are quick actions?
Quick actions are one-click shortcuts in the AI assistant that trigger common agent tasks without requiring you to type a prompt. They appear as buttons below the message input or in the assistant toolbar and change depending on which module or page you are viewing.
Where to find quick actions
Open the AI assistant from any page in Userorbit. Below the message box, you will see a row of quick action buttons relevant to your current context. For example:
- On the Feedback page — You may see actions like Summarize feedback, Draft response, or Categorize item.
- On a Help Center article — Actions like Improve this article, Simplify language, or Generate FAQ may appear.
- On the Announcements page — Look for Draft announcement, Write release notes, or Suggest headline.
- On the Changelog — Actions like Create entry or Summarize recent changes may be available.
Using a quick action
- Navigate to the page or item you want to work with.
- Open the AI assistant.
- Click the quick action button that matches your goal.
- The agent immediately processes the action using the current page as context and returns a result in the chat.
You do not need to type anything — the quick action provides the prompt automatically. Once the agent responds, you can follow up with additional instructions to refine the output, just as you would in a normal conversation.
Quick actions and context
Quick actions are context-sensitive. If you click Draft response while viewing a specific feedback item, the agent drafts a response to that particular item. If you click the same action from the feedback list page, the agent may ask you to specify which item you mean.
For the best results, navigate to the specific item first, then trigger the quick action.
Customizing quick actions
The set of available quick actions is determined by the modules enabled in your workspace and the page you are viewing. You do not need to configure them manually — they appear automatically based on context.
If you find yourself repeatedly typing the same type of prompt and there is no matching quick action, consider setting up a content automation or agent workflow to handle it. See How to create content automations for details.
Tips
- Use quick actions to learn. They are a great way to discover what the agent can do for each module.
- Follow up. Quick action output is a starting point. Ask the agent to revise the tone, length, or focus.
- Combine with model selection. For important drafts, switch to an advanced model before triggering a quick action.
