Overview

As your feedback volume grows, finding specific items quickly becomes essential. Userorbit provides filtering, searching, and sorting tools that let you slice through hundreds or thousands of feedback items to find exactly what you need. This guide covers every way to narrow down your feedback view.

Using Filters

Filters are available at the top of any feedback board or the all-feedback view. You can combine multiple filters to create precise views.

Status Filter

Filter by one or more statuses to focus on items at a specific stage in your pipeline. Common uses:

  • Show only In Review items for your weekly triage session.
  • Show Planned and In Progress items to see what is actively being worked on.
  • Hide Closed items to keep the view focused on open feedback.

Board Filter

If you are viewing all feedback across boards, use the board filter to narrow down to a specific board. This is useful when you have boards per product area and want to focus on one at a time.

Tag Filter

Filter by tags to see feedback grouped by theme. For example, filter by "UX" to see all user experience-related feedback regardless of which board it lives on. You can select multiple tags to see items that match any of the selected tags.

Assignee Filter

Filter by team member to see which feedback items are assigned to a specific person. This is helpful for individual workload management and during one-on-one check-ins.

Date Filter

Filter by date range to see feedback submitted within a specific time period. Use this to review recent submissions, analyze trends over a quarter, or identify seasonal patterns in feedback.

Searching Feedback

The search bar at the top of the feedback view lets you search by keyword across titles and descriptions. Search is instant and updates results as you type.

Search tips:

  • Use specific terms rather than broad ones. Searching for "dark mode" is more effective than searching for "mode".
  • Search works across all boards simultaneously, so you do not need to switch boards to find an item.
  • Combine search with filters for maximum precision. For example, search for "export" while filtering by status Planned to find all planned export-related features.

Sorting Options

Change the sort order to surface the most relevant items:

  • Most votes — See the most popular items first. Useful for prioritization sessions.
  • Newest first — See the most recently submitted items. Good for daily triage.
  • Oldest first — Find items that have been sitting in the queue the longest.
  • Recently updated — See items with recent activity, such as new votes, status changes, or comments.

Saved Views

If you find yourself applying the same combination of filters repeatedly, save it as a view:

  1. Apply your desired filters and sort order.
  2. Click Save View.
  3. Give the view a name, such as "Weekly Triage" or "High-Vote UX Issues".
  4. Access your saved views from the views dropdown at any time.

Saved views are shared with your team, so everyone can use the same views for consistent workflows.

Practical Workflows

  • Weekly triage — Filter by status In Review, sort by oldest first, and work through the queue from top to bottom.
  • Prioritization meeting — Filter by status In Review or Planned, sort by most votes, and discuss the top items.
  • Feature area review — Filter by a specific tag (e.g., "Integrations"), all statuses, sort by most votes to see what users want most in that area.
  • Sprint planning — Filter by status Planned, sort by most votes, and pick the top items to move into your next sprint.
