What we will cover
In this tutorial we will send our first message to the AI assistant, explore quick actions, and see how agents can help with everyday tasks in Userorbit. By the end, we will have a working conversation and a feel for what agents can do.
Step 1: Open the AI assistant
From any page in your Userorbit workspace, look for the AI assistant icon in the left sidebar or bottom-right corner. Click it to open the chat panel. If this is your first time, you will see a welcome message and a few suggested prompts to get you started.
Step 2: Send your first message
Type a simple question or request in the message box. For example:
- "Draft a short changelog entry for our new dark-mode feature."
- "Summarize the feedback we received this week."
- "What are the most requested features right now?"
Press Enter or click the send button. The agent will process your request and respond with a draft, a summary, or an answer depending on what you asked. You will see a thinking indicator while the agent works.
Step 3: Review the response
Read through the agent's response. You can:
- Copy the text to use it elsewhere.
- Ask for edits by sending a follow-up message like "Make it shorter" or "Use a more casual tone."
- Accept and apply the suggestion if the agent offered to create or update something directly.
The agent remembers the context of your conversation, so each follow-up message builds on what came before.
Step 4: Try a quick action
Below the message box you will see quick action buttons. These are shortcuts for common tasks tied to the module you are currently viewing. If you are on the Feedback page, you might see actions like Summarize feedback or Draft response. Click one to trigger it instantly — no typing required.
Quick actions are a fast way to discover what the agent can do without composing a prompt from scratch.
Step 5: Explore context awareness
Navigate to a specific feedback item, help center article, or announcement draft, then open the assistant. Notice that the agent automatically picks up context from the page you are viewing. Ask it something related — for example, open a feedback item and ask "Draft a response to this customer." The agent will reference the feedback details in its reply.
Step 6: Start a new conversation
When you want to change topics, click the New conversation button at the top of the chat panel. This clears the current context and gives the agent a fresh slate. Your previous conversations are saved and you can return to them at any time from the conversation list.
