Confirm access, enable recording when required, and understand how long Userorbit keeps each replay.
Plan requirement: Session Replay requires Scale or Enterprise. It is also available during an active trial. A workspace-specific Session Replay override can make it available on another plan.

How recording starts

  • Active trial: Recording is enabled automatically. Trial replays have 30-day retention.
  • Scale or legacy Pro: Session Replay must be turned on. New replays have 90-day retention.
  • Enterprise: Session Replay must be turned on. Retention defaults to 90 days and may use a custom Enterprise retention period.

Launch and Growth do not include Session Replay unless Userorbit has enabled it specifically for the workspace.

Start using Session Replay

  1. Confirm that you are in the correct workspace. Plans and Session Replay settings are workspace-specific.
  2. Open Session Replay for the project you want to review.
  3. Open the Session Replay privacy settings.
  4. If the workspace is on an active trial, no separate recording opt-in is required.
  5. If the workspace is on Scale, Enterprise, or legacy Pro, turn on Session Replay before expecting new recordings.
  6. Review the retention period that applies to the workspace.

Retention and existing replays

The retention period is assigned when recording begins. Changing retention later does not change the expiry of existing replays; each existing replay keeps the expiry it received when it was recorded.
Enterprise workspaces can use custom retention from 1 to 3,650 days. Scale and legacy Pro use 90-day retention, and active trials use 30-day retention.

Troubleshooting

Session Replay is unavailable

Check Settings → Billing for the selected workspace. The workspace needs an active trial, Scale, Enterprise, legacy Pro access, or a workspace-specific Session Replay override.

A paid workspace is not recording

Plan access does not start recording by itself. Open the Session Replay privacy settings and confirm that recording is turned on.

A replay has an older expiry date

Existing replays keep the expiry assigned when recording began. A later retention change applies to new recordings, not existing ones.
