How to Create and Configure Feedback Boards

This guide shows you how to create and configure feedback boards in the Userorbit Admin Panel to collect and manage user feedback efficiently.

Before You Begin

  • Access to the Userorbit Admin Panel with appropriate permissions.
  • An understanding of the types of feedback you want to collect (e.g., feature requests, bug reports, general feedback).

Steps

  1. Navigate to Feedback Boards — Access the feedback management section within your Userorbit Admin Panel.
  2. Create a New Feedback Board — Initiate the creation process for a new board and provide the essential details:
    • Name: Enter a descriptive name for your board (e.g., "Feature Requests," "Bug Reports").
    • Description: Add a brief explanation of the board's purpose.
    • Slug: Define a unique, URL-friendly identifier for the board.
  3. Set Board Visibility (Public/Private) — Choose whether your feedback board will be accessible to all users or restricted:
    • Public: Allows anyone with the link to view and interact.
    • Private: Requires users to log in or have specific permissions.
  4. Configure Board Settings — Adjust various interaction settings for your board:
    • Allow Voting: Enable or disable users' ability to upvote/downvote feedback.
    • Allow Comments: Determine if users can leave comments on feedback items.
    • Require Login: Specify if users must be logged in to submit or interact with feedback.
  5. Add Tags for Categorization — Apply relevant tags to help organize and filter feedback submissions effectively.
  6. Customize the Board URL — Modify the public URL of your feedback board for better branding or memorability.
  7. Manage Multiple Boards — Consider creating separate boards for distinct feedback categories (e.g., "Feature Requests," "Bug Reports," "General Feedback") to streamline organization and focus feedback.

Verify It Worked

After creating and configuring your feedback board:

  • Navigate to the newly created feedback board URL.
  • Confirm that its visibility (public/private) and configured settings (voting, comments, login requirement) are as expected.
  • Check that tags are applied and the URL is customized correctly.
