Step behavior controls how a tour step appears and what its buttons do.

Edit a step

Open the tour with Edit In App and select a step in the visual builder. Review the content, Behavior and relevant target settings.

For a tooltip, select the intended element and check the match. Use the positioning options shown by the builder; do not assume undocumented Auto placement or z-index controls.

Configure buttons

Review the action assigned to each button. Use a clear label that describes the result. If the primary action runs JavaScript, test success and failure cases before publishing.

Add a beacon when useful

For a tooltip, enable Beacon and choose Badge, Hotspot or Label. Set its position and inset. Beacon with step open controls whether it remains visible while the tooltip is open.

Test the step and tour

Preview the step on its actual page, then run the tour from the beginning. Check navigation, targets and button actions at the screen sizes your users use.

Changing step settings does not guarantee a particular conversion improvement. Use the tour's results to identify where users stop, then investigate the experience.
