Set the questions readers see when they open Ask AI and give the assistant guidance for responding. Keep your published articles up to date: guidance does not replace the instructions customers need.

Set up Ask AI

  1. Open Help Center → Design and select Content.
  2. Turn on Ask AI to show the assistant beside Help Center search.
  3. Under Starter questions, enter one question per line. You can add up to five questions, with up to 120 characters per question. Choose questions your articles can answer, such as “How do I invite a teammate?”
  4. Under Support guidance, describe how the assistant should respond and when it should direct a reader to support. You can enter up to 2,000 characters.
  5. Select Save.
Ask AI starter questions and support guidance in Help Center Content settings
Ask AI settings in the Atlas Cloud demo workspace.

Open the public Help Center, launch Ask AI, and select each starter question. Check that the answer uses the right articles and keeps any conditions or limits attached to the instructions.

Write useful guidance

Give specific instructions about terminology, answer format, and support handoff. For example:

Use the feature names shown in our articles. For setup questions, give numbered steps and link to the relevant article. If the articles do not answer the question, say what is missing and direct the reader to our published support contact route.

Only name a support route your customers can actually use. Put product facts and procedures in articles so customers can read them directly and the assistant has source material to cite.

Review unanswered questions

Open Help Center → AI Conversations to inspect questions and responses. If an answer lacks product information, update the relevant article. Change support guidance when the response style or handoff instructions need adjustment, then test the question again.
