Choose the right control
| Task | Control |
|---|---|
| Decide whether a user qualifies on the page they are viewing | Current page in the targeting condition builder. Combine it with other audience conditions using AND or OR. |
| Start an experience on a matching navigation or page event | The URL filters in the experience's launch event. Check that event's own filter logic. |
| Make a tour available from the Help widget on selected pages | The tour's Help widget URL rules. Multiple rules use OR. |
These controls are evaluated for different purposes. Matching an audience condition does not replace a launch event, publication, frequency, or schedule.
Add a current-page condition
- Open the experience's targeting settings and choose Specific users.
- Select Filter and choose Current page.
- Select the comparison and enter the URL value.
- Use All (AND) or Any (OR) to combine it with other conditions.
- Save and test both a matching and a non-matching page.
Use an exact comparison for one full URL or a contains comparison for a shared part of several URLs. Use the comparison options shown in that control; URL controls do not all expose the same pattern types or empty-rule behavior.
Test navigation
Test the full URL, including query strings where relevant. For a single-page application, test a route change without reloading the browser. If your integration needs to report route changes explicitly, call userorbit.registerRouteChange() after navigation.
